Invitation to the 2016 Congo Mission Network Conference

Dear Friends of the Congo,

On September 7 – 9, we will be coming together in Montreat, NC, for the annual Conference of the Congo Mission Network followed by a Celebration of 125 years of Presbyterian work in the Congo.\

The Conference theme, “Challenges and Opportunities for Congolese Children and Youth”, will allow us to look in to the future, and then to celebrate our history.  The CMN program can be found under “Annual Meeting”. Register at www.montreat.org/congo.

This year we are honored to have the Rev. Dr. Paul Mpongo as our CMN keynote speaker.  He is the Assistant Legal Representative of the Communaute Presbyterienne au Congo (CPC), based in Kinshasa, a professor of theology at several seminaries and the pastor of a church. We will have several other notable Congolese guests participating in the CMN conference, some of whom are coming directly from the DRC. Others are part of the vast Congolese diaspora in the US. Several Mission co-workers, currently serving in the Congo, will be speaking.

The registration for CMN does not fully cover the keynote speaker’s costs nor the registration waivers for co-workers and other speakers. To help with these expenses, we ask you to consider making a donation to the Congo Mission Network.

  • Or you may send a check made out to the CONGO MISSION NETWORK to our treasurer, Bill Rule, at the following address:

Please invite Rev. Dr. Mpongo to speak at your church. He will be available for one month, beginning on September 10. On the weekend of October 2, he will be in Boston, MA and will be departing from there for Kinshasa on October 5th. If you are interested in having him speak, please contact me at craneal46@gmail.com, as soon as possible.

Thank you for your support. We look forward to seeing you soon in Montreat!

Blessings,
